Should your pitch deck contain an innovation strategy?

My most recent meeting with an investment group suggest yes…

“As an investment group, we often review numerous pitch decks, and it’s surprisingly rare to see a well-defined innovation strategy that not only disrupts the market but also aligns seamlessly with long-term business objectives. A pitch that effectively outlines this can truly stand out and capture our interest.”

The other item that the investors were adamant about was seeing innovation activities on founder’s calendars.

“We look at the calendars of the candidate management tream and if we don’t see scheduled time for innovation we become skeptical that we are investing in innovators.”

If you are raising capital and don’t have an innovation strategy and don’t have innovation on your calendar you are less attractive to investors. As an innovation and investment advisor I have seen this more that a few time. Don’t ignore innovation.
